DYNOmite Towing Dynamometers offer very highly customizable drawbar pull behavior to simulate all types of road grade, wind drag, and inertial loads. Need a long uphill grade to stress test a cooling system or transmission? Now there is no need to drive to the mountains. Just dial in the desired terrain. The eddy current absorber's lightning-fast control allows it to simulate a wide range of vehicle inertias without the hassle of precisely adding or removing ballast. The DYNOmites streamlined fiberglass bodywork and low rolling resistance tires do more than look good; they help minimizes parasitic drag so that you can even simulate very low drag conditions (without decoupling the trailer).  

Sustained Hp and top end require an absorption dynamometer (i.e. a DYNOmite system). Unlike “acceleration spurt” inertial testing, these can load a vehicle indefinitely. The absorber allows running controlled RPM step or sweep Hp tests. Everything is under computer control via the included Electronic Auto Load.

Available in a range of sizes to match the base trailer mass (inertia) and absorber capacity to the type of vehicle testing you are engaged in. Adjustable ballast and low parasitic losses allow a single model to work over a wider range than many completive units.

Simulate all types of driving conditions with your towing dyno by letting DYNO-MAX and your PC create the terrain. DYNO-MAX features a “Road Load Simulation” mode that adjusts for  grade angle, vehicle momentum, air drag, rolling friction, etc. Enter the vehicle’s weight and drag data and then allow the software to monitor MPH vs. applied Hp, as it adjusts the dyno’s road load accordingly. Want a bigger hill? Just tap a key to increase or decrease the grade %. To the car’s driveline and operator, the feel can be like actually driving up that mountain pass with a travel trailer in tow!

Verify emissions under load using your existing, or our optional (digitally integrated) DYNOmite 5-gas, exhaust analyzer. Proper emission testing procedures require repeatable absorber load control. No more trying to use unloaded idle data to verify that repaired vehicles are in emissions compliance.

Battery powered eddy current absorbers avoid the hassle of on-board generators. They can be configured to recharge from vehicle's alternator during periods of light load, downhill coasting, and idling. The included DC to AC inverter may also be used to power hand tools and other diagnostic equipment for remote roadside modifications of the vehicle under test. Everything, including the absorber, load control, and DYNOmite data-acquisition computer, can be run off the same battery array. Combine this with your laptop computer, running DYNO-MAX™ software, to run a laboratory-like dynamometer test session… almost anywhere on the planet.

Power supply/controls provide 96-volt DC PWM (pulse width modulated) output that is automatically adjusted by the DYNOmite data-acquisition computer's PID control algorithms. Obtaining the desired road load simulation is simply a matter of entering the vehicle weight and drag to model. Or, where required, a desired draw-bar pull can be entered directly.

High speed eddy current spindle and axle bearings (and their grease seals) provide extra long life for extended industrial or OEM endurance testing applications. Zerk grease fittings allow for easier maintenance. Replacement bearings and seals are available locally, and they are engineered for convenient field replacement. These features are combined into a design which minimizes the number of moving wear parts, rendering expensive downtime a non-issue.
